Many leaders assume that a group of capable people automatically becomes a team. Put them together, give them a goal, and collaboration will follow. In practice, that rarely happens.
Collaboration is a skill, not a coincidence
A team that truly collaborates has shared goals, trust, and the courage to hold each other accountable. That doesn't appear spontaneously; it's built, with attention and repetition.
A group only becomes a team once the discomfort can be talked about.
Start small. Make room to say out loud what normally goes unsaid, and build a rhythm around it. That's where the real acceleration begins.
